Erica Smith has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Barbadian collective management organisation, the Copyright Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Incorporated (COSCAP) since 2000. She is Treasurer of the Association of Caribbean Copyright Societies (ACCS) and the former Chair of the ACCS Management Committee.
She has undergraduate degrees in Management and Law and postgraduate degrees in International Business Management, Intellectual Property Law and International Sports Law and Management. She has done executive studies in corporate governance with the Harvard Kennedy School and the Certified Management Accountants (CMA). She is also a partner in the consultancy firm, Conceptualisation Incorporated℠ and has undertaken research and written several papers on the commercialisation and development of the intellectual property regime in the Caribbean.
Through Conceptualisation Inc. ℠ she has also presented various training programmes in intellectual asset management. Miss. Smith has tutored for six years in various subject areas at the University of the West Indies including International Business, Business Policy and Strategy and Caribbean Business Development.
