Soul, Pop, Rock, R&B, Neo Jazz, Reggae are some of the genres that can be applied to this singer-songwriter named Wesu. Hails originally from Zimbabwe as his birthplace but is a child of the world. Richest vocals in each and every style of music thrown at him with a unique ability to reshape and recompose on the spot to suit the atmosphere, Wesu is one artist you would not soon forget. One album released in 2012 entitled "This Is My Party", it has music penned by Wesu, produced by Wesu and not only that, the musicianship shows an unbridled floetry of passion within each musical note played by Wesu. Spending his teenage years in Barbados, Wesu has inherited the authentic ethnicity of Caribbean music and has found a way to smoothly mesh the Caribbean culture within his live music, which in turn has created a blurred line between genres for this incredibly talented artist.
Wesu started out as a singer playing the guitar but has since evolved into a classy piano playing star. Inspired by the likes of Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Brian McKnight, Alicia Keys, Maxwell Michael Jackson and many others, there are very few who can deny the high standard of quality in this Afro-British musician. His ability to sing and play songs from such artistic legends has made him a fiercely demanded performer around the world as he travels. Opening for Simple Plan in Jamaica, Wesu it was almost as if he stole the show. Wesu has also been a strong aid in the music industry in Barbados by creating the different types of artistic shows, poetry events, open mic nights and such the like.
Wesu has fortunate to have traveled many times to the United States of America doing the college circuit and again proving to be a highly appreciated and desired act, be it solo or otherwise. Spending six months in Qatar, Wesu has been able to raise the interest level on what was and still is Doha's most exclusive top restaurant, "La Mer" located in the Ritz Carlton's top floor. To deny that Wesu is an asset to any restaurant or bar looking to raise their attention, is to deny the sky is blue. Spending three months performing in Western Australia, mainly Perth and its surrounding towns, Wesu has been able to break the cultural barriers that usually face performers in unfamiliar territories. These exploits do not diminish the standard that was already set in Barbados for places such as, The Cliff, The Hilton,The Crane and Sandy Lane to name a few. Despite not being in Barbados for a number of years, Wesu has still left a very positive mark of his brand and quality.
The Voice UK 2018 where Wesu made his mark on international television by being chosen to be on Will.I.Am from Black Eyed Peas’s team after the Blind Auditions. Quickly being recognized as an artist to look out for, the United Kingdom and Europe are anxiously waiting to hear more from what they dubbed as “the real winner of The Voice”.
Wesu continues to perform and reinvent himself in the music industry to remain on top of the game. Working along with Hana Roads Music Group in Switzerland, look out for more, because Wesu is the real deal!!
